National Director – Southwest United States of America - Benjamin Serpas

Born in San Salvador (El Salvador) on April 5, 1946;
Has been a Resident of the United States of America since 1980.


He studied Elementary School in San Francisco, California; Obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of New Mexico while on a U.S. Government Scholarship; his Post-Graduate studies are in Biomedical Engineering in England and Scotland, under a British Government Scholarship; History and Political Science at Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona; and Philosophy at New Acropolis, El Salvador.

He taught, and was Head of Biomedical Engineering, at the School of Medicine, University of El Salvador; has founded several companies, mostly in the medical field; and was President of Saint George Acropolitan University in El Salvador.

He has held many posts with New Acropolis, such as Head of the Central School in San Salvador and was the founder and first Director of the Bodhidharma Philosophical Martial Arts Institute of El Salvador, having been instrumental in the founding of this Institute in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Dominican Republic.

Amongst some of the courses he teaches in New Acropolis are: Philosophy: Ethics, Social Politics, Psychology, Oriental Philosophy, Moral Philosophy and Theological Symbolism; Martial Arts (Master of Tai Chi Chuan and Archery): Tai Chi Chuan, Chi Kung, Luo Han Kung, Tai Chi Chien, Tui Shou, and Archery (as a martial art).

He is the National Director of New Acropolis for the Southwestern United States, which includes the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico, and is the National Director of the Bodhidharma Philosophical Martial Arts Institute for the United States of America. Professor Serpas is presently working out of our Central School in Phoenix, Arizona.
